Many people think of big open water when they think of Lake Superior. Our outpost lodge is on Moss Island, which is among the hundreds of islands in Nipigon Bay. It's a well-protected waterway, which makes for enjoyable fishing.
Mid summer is when the big Chinook Salmon (King Salmon) start coming in from the really deep water and they become accessible with downriggers. We troll around the islands and shoals and commonly catch salmon in the 3 to 20 pound range.
